Give the outdoor unit room to breathe
Your outdoor unit needs a steady flow of air across its coil. A few simple habits help it keep up in summer:
- Keep grass, shrubs and vines trimmed back from all sides
- Don’t stack items against the unit or cover it in season
- Keep loose leaves and grass clippings away from the unit; leave coil cleaning and anything inside the panels to a technician
- Change or clean your indoor filter as the manufacturer recommends
- Turn the system off and call if it’s iced over, buzzing or not starting
What regular maintenance covers
A maintenance visit is a chance to clean coils, clear the condensate drain, check electrical parts and refrigerant levels, and look over the heating side before it’s needed. It lowers the chance of a surprise breakdown, but it can’t prevent every failure.
Tiger Care is our maintenance program; we’ll explain how it works when you call.
Schriever questions
Does Tiger Temperature come to Schriever?
Yes. Schriever is part of our service area, and we’re based nearby in Thibodaux. Call 985-492-7295 or book online.
My outdoor unit is running but the house isn’t cooling. What should I check?
Make sure the thermostat is set to cool, the filter is clean and the outdoor unit isn’t blocked. If it still isn’t cooling, turn it off and call; low refrigerant, a failed part or a frozen coil need a technician.
